Corporate Strolling & Walk-Around Magic
Alan moves around your function performing for small groups while guests mingle. No stage, no sound system and no break in your programme — the entertainment simply becomes part of the event.
How strolling magic works
Also described as walk-around magic or roving magic, this is close-up magic brought to your guests where they are standing. Alan joins a group for a few minutes, performs something astonishing with cards, coins or borrowed objects, leaves them laughing, and moves on to the next group.
Because it needs no stage and no changeover, it suits the parts of an event where nothing is scheduled: arrival drinks, pre-dinner mingling, the gap between a conference session and a meal, or an exhibition floor.
Why organisers choose it
- Fills arrival and networking time with something memorable
- Reaches every part of the room rather than one audience
- Breaks groups open and starts conversations
- Needs no stage, staging or technical set-up
- Runs alongside your programme instead of interrupting it
Alan will discuss your requirements, guest numbers, venue layout and timing and tailor the performance to suit.
Suitable for
- Cocktail functions
- Conferences
- Networking events
- Christmas functions
- Awards evenings
- Product launches
- Trade shows and expos
- Weddings
- Shopping centres
- Community events
Not sure which format you need? Close-up magic suits seated guests; strolling magic suits a room where people are standing and moving.
Alan is happy to recommend one over the other once he knows how your event runs.
WHAT STROLLING MAGIC CLIENTS SAY
“Alan Watson is the first magician from New Zealand to appear in our Close-Up Gallery. He delighted our audiences with his unique technical skills. They are at once astonished and well pleased, a rare combination for any professional to master. His act is of the highest quality and he is one of the finest talents to appear at the Magic Castle in a long time. We look forward to booking Alan Watson whenever he is in the area.”
“I would like to express my thanks to you for the two performances of strolling magic you carried out here at the Travelodge. Both occasions were very successful with many of our guests commenting on your flair and talent. I was especially pleased with the atmosphere you created in our outlets as you wandered from venue to venue. It certainly added a touch of sparkle and wonderment to our guests' evening, and many of our regulars are still commenting upon it.”
“Please find attached payment for the fantastic job you did at our National Millionaires Function. Your strolling magic show went down well with some excellent feedback. Your talent and time was much appreciated.”
